Zachary earned his Master of Architecture from the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation in 2009 where he received an Honor Award for Design Excellence, the Lucille Lowenfish Memorial Prize, and a William Kinne Travelling Fellowship. He earned his Bachelor of Environmental Design cum laude from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2005 where he was a member of the Undergraduate Academy.

Zachary is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Architecture at Columbia University where he teaches design studios with Mabel Wilson and the seminar, The Future of the Past.  He has been a guest critic at the Yale University School of Architecture, the Cooper Union Irwin S. Chanin School of Architecture, the Columbia University GSAPP, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile Facultad de Arquitectura, Barnard College, and the University of Colorado College of Architecture and Planning.  

Zachary has worked with Bernard Tschumi Architects, SAS / Solomonoff Architecture Studio, and ROY Co. Design on projects in the United States, Brazil, Chile, and South Africa.
